Privacy Policy

Effective May 28, 2026

1. Who we are

HabitAdd (“we”, “us”, “the app”) is a habit-tracking application published by Lumio Studio. We build a calm, social space for people to build and keep habits. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you use HabitAdd, why we collect it, how we protect it, and the choices you have. By using HabitAdd you agree to the practices described below.

2. Information we collect

Account information. If you create an account, we store your email address, a unique user ID, and (optionally) your display name and profile photo. You may also use HabitAdd anonymously without an account — in that case your data lives only on your device.

Your habit data. The habits, entries, schedules, notes, group memberships and peer relationships you create in HabitAdd. If you enable cloud sync (Premium), this data is synchronized to your authenticated account in Firebase Firestore so it’s available across your devices.

Usage data. Aggregated, anonymous information about how you use the app — which screens you visit, which features you tap, how often you complete a habit. This is used to improve the product. We do not collect the contents of your habits for analytics.

Device data. Device model, OS version, locale, time zone, app version, and a non-permanent installation identifier. Used for diagnostics and crash reports.

Subscription data. If you subscribe to HabitAdd Premium, our subscription partner (Adapty) records anonymized purchase information (product ID, period, transaction ID). Payment itself is handled by Apple — we never see your credit-card details.

3. How we use your information

  • To run the core features of the app: tracking, reminders, streaks, sync.
  • To enable social features (peer habits, group activity feeds) between users who have explicitly invited each other.
  • To validate your subscription with the App Store / Adapty.
  • To improve the product through anonymized analytics.
  • To send transactional emails (account verification, password reset, important policy changes). We do not send marketing email without your opt-in.
  • To respond to your support requests.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

4. Third-party services we use

We rely on a small number of carefully chosen third-party services. Each one receives only the data necessary to perform its function.

  • Firebase (Google LLC) — authentication, Firestore database, push notifications, crash reporting. Firebase privacy.
  • Adapty — subscription analytics and receipt validation. Adapty privacy.
  • PostHog — anonymous product analytics (self-hosted on PostHog Cloud). PostHog privacy.
  • Apple — payments, subscription management, App Store delivery, and Sign in with Apple. Apple privacy.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. We do not use advertising SDKs and do not track you across other apps or websites.

5. Data storage, location, and security

Cloud-synced data is stored in Google Firebase (multi-region, primarily in the European Union and the United States). We protect data in transit with TLS 1.2+ and at rest with Google’s standard server-side encryption. Access to production data is limited to a small number of engineers and is audited.

For users in regions where data residency matters: by using HabitAdd you acknowledge that your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States.

6. Data retention

We keep your account and habit data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated personal data is erased from our active systems within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated analytics may be retained indefinitely as it no longer identifies you.

You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Settings → Delete Account inside the app, or by emailing habitadd@lumiostudio.co.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Rectification — correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your data (right to be forgotten).
  • Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Restriction / objection — limit or object to certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent — at any time, where processing relies on consent.
  • Lodge a complaint — with your local data-protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email habitadd@lumiostudio.co. We will respond within 30 days.

For California residents (CCPA / CPRA): you also have the right to know what categories of personal information we collect and disclose, the right to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (we don’t engage in either), and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights.

8. Children’s privacy

HabitAdd is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA / UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under those ages. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at habitadd@lumiostudio.co and we will delete it.

9. Push notifications

With your permission, HabitAdd sends push notifications for reminders, peer activity, and progress milestones. You can revoke this permission at any time in your device settings. Notification content is generated on your device — we never read the content of a delivered notification.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Effective” date at the top and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continued use of HabitAdd after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

11. Contact us

Questions, requests, or complaints about this policy or your data? Email us at habitadd@lumiostudio.co. We read every message.
